The Phalaenopsis orchid is known for its refined elegance and easy care. Location
The Phalaenopsis orchid thrives best in a spot with bright, indirect light , such as an east- or west-facing window. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent damage to the leaves and flowers. Make sure the ambient temperature is between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius , and keep the orchid away from drafty areas and heating elements.
Water requirement
Water the orchid once a week by immersing the pot in lukewarm water for a few minutes. Allow excess water to drain well to prevent root rot. Check the roots; healthy roots are light green in color. Water less in the fall and winter when the plant is dormant.
Soil and nutrition
Use well-draining orchid soil with a mix of bark and coconut fiber to provide the roots with sufficient air. Feed the plant with special orchid fertilizer once every two weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce the fertilization during the winter months.
