The Calathea Triostar is known for its beautiful, colorful leaves with unique shades of green, pink and cream. The Calathea Triostar thrives best in a spot with bright, indirect light . Direct sunlight can damage the leaves and fade their colors, so a spot with filtered light is ideal. This plant likes a warm environment with a temperature between 18-24°C and high humidity , which makes it suitable for bathrooms, for example. In drier areas, it helps to mist the plant regularly.

Water requirement

The Calathea Triostar has an average water requirement . Keep the soil slightly moist , but avoid allowing the roots to stand in standing water, as this can cause root rot. It is advisable to allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Preferably use rainwater or distilled water, as the Calathea can be sensitive to the chemicals in tap water.

Soil and nutrition

This plant requires a well-drained, airy potting soil . A mix of potting soil, coconut fiber, and perlite provides an optimal balance between moisture retention and drainage. During the growing season, in spring and summer, the Calathea Triostar benefits from a light feeding with a water-soluble houseplant fertilizer every four to six weeks.
