This stunning mix of Calatheas brings tropical elegance to your home and consists of three varieties: Calathea Orbifolia, Calathea Ornata and Calathea Rufibarba . Two plants of each variety are supplied. Each variety has unique characteristics that together create a vibrant and varied green whole. Calathea Orbifolia shows off large, round leaves with a subtle silver stripe; Calathea Ornata has narrow, elongated leaves with fine pink lines; and Calathea Rufibarba, also known as velvet plant, has fluffy, dark green leaves with a slightly wavy texture. Together, these Calatheas provide a beautiful, varied eye-catcher that brightens up any room.

Location

This mix of Calatheas does best in a spot with bright, indirect light . Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so it is advisable to place the plants near a curtained window, or in a well-lit room without direct sunlight. Ideally, keep the plants in a room where the temperature remains between 18°C ​​and 24°C , without cold drafts or sudden temperature changes.

Water requirement

Calatheas like evenly moist soil, but not soggy roots. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again, and use room temperature water to avoid shocking the plants. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot. Mist the leaves regularly to increase humidity, or place a bowl of water near the plants to maintain a humid environment.

Soil and nutrition

Plant these Calatheas in a well-draining, slightly acidic soil that retains moisture well, such as a mixture of peat moss, perlite, and orchid bark. This mix provides the right balance of nutrients and drainage. Fertilize the plants every four to six weeks during the growing season with a light, water-soluble fertilizer to keep them healthy and strong. Repot your Calatheas every one to two years, preferably in spring or early summer, choosing a slightly larger pot to give the roots just enough room without adding too much extra space.
